The Objectives of BEST for Society address the six crucial areas of social co-
existence in India , that will help us achieve lasting peace and harmony.
Interfaith Harmony – Initiatives that promote and nurture interfaith unity,
harmony and the message of oneness.
The emphasis is on enabling and nurturing dialogues between communities,
regardless of their faith, through education, advocacy and community-wide
events. Faith should function as a tool for peace, rather than division and
marginalization. Through valuable secular inputs, initiatives to increase
tolerance and goodwill between communities and faiths, will be implemented.
The dialogues will thus enable and promote mutual empathy, understanding
and cooperation leading to a culture of peace and harmony. Global stability is
in our own hands and it is important to go back to the core message of our
scriptures to explore and celebrate the concept of interfaith relationships.
Equality for All – Enabling equality for all, irrespective of caste, creed,
religion, language and gender.
Such equality provides protection to individuals against discrimination and the
right to be treated with respect and dignity in the society. The emphasis is,
therefore, to create awareness resulting in a social movement that will enable
truly equal opportunities. Such a movement will guarantee equal access to laws,
income, education, public services and similar rights. Our initiatives will
attempt to end not only conspicuous and hidden discrimination but also ending
subconscious bias. Our endeavour will be to reform institutions that
inadvertently exercise segregation. The focus will be on building a systematic
campaign to create awareness of a world where no one has to forgo their rights
because of who they are.
Sustainable Living – Activities inspiring harmony with nature to energise our
immediate eco-systems.
The initiatives envisage working closely with governments, businesses and local
communities to facilitate sustainable living. The campaign will encapsulate a
mode of living where we live within the innate carrying capacity of the planet.
The campaign will seek to inform the stakeholders about the dangers faced as a
result of global warming, increasing pollution, indiscriminate mining,
elimination of forest cover, unregulated expansion of urban spaces and
exploding population growth. Afforestation, rain water harvesting and
maintenance of water -bodies will be undertaken with due diligence. The
intention is to evolve simpler lifestyles, moderate consumerism, equitable
growth, and smarter waste disposal thus promoting efficiency and reducing
ecological impact.
Women Empowerment – Programs foster empowerment and safety of women.
The strategy is to educate and thus empower women to ensure they have a
significant role in governance, public dialogue and decisions that will influence
their families’ and society’s future. Through advocacy and rights-based
campaigns, the emphasis is on imparting skills training as a need-based
programme, encouraging social entrepreneurship through self-help groups and
enabling access to micro-financing options to facilitate such entrepreneurial
start-ups. Empowering women is essential to reducing poverty and generating
creating income amongst impoverished communities. The cause of the girl child
will be given special importance since empowered and educated women will
pass on these benefits to their children and families, leading to equality. A well-
being initiative stressing on personal health and hygiene will also be form part
of this process.
Community Health – Propagating effective community awareness programs to
improve sanitation primary healthcare and water hygiene, thus creating a
positive influence on personal and societal health and hygiene.
The emphasis is to address concerns of community health by building long-term
partnerships with the local community to maximize the impact. This partnership
will be crucial in assessing the needs of the community, quantifying
vulnerability to diseases, managing disability, prevention of diseases and death.
The community outreach — stressing on wholesome nutrition and maternal
health — will be conducted through Health camps, workshops, interactive
sessions and personal conversations. Creating a corps of local volunteers
within the community to monitor physical and mental health anomalies,
addiction tendencies and educating people about personal and community
hygiene & sanitation measures will help to prevent and alleviate chronic
diseases and epidemics, thereby enhancing the quality of life.
Education & Youth Development – An active proponent to spread education in
the lower strata of society and to empower youth through education across the
nation.
The initiative commits to helping impoverished communities and young people
realize their full potential through workshops, programs and outreach
programmes. Besides delivering literacy missions for the uneducated, the
programmes will emphasize on character education by imparting core ethical
values. Mentoring the youth, collaborating with organisations working in
education and career advancement, participating in youth exchange
programmes and finally, training the youth with adequate supporting
paraphernalia to improve academics are some of the steps designed to,
minimize risk behaviours and build well-rounded personalities. The initiative
will also help the unemployed youth to develop trade skills through vocational
training courses and gain crucial work experience to get employed easily in the
job market.
The Mission actively conceptualizes, organises and executes activities and
initiatives that bring true reformation and change in human minds for a better,
more inclusive and truly united world.
The BEST for Society is based on the core belief that humanity, regardless of
differences, is built on the foundation of Peace, Love and Faith. The BEST for
Society works by encouraging people to nurture the innate goodness in every
human being. In other words: “Born human, be human, every step for
humanity.”
